Vintage Christmas at the Flea Market! Score!

Hi everyone! I wanted to share with you some vintage Christmas goodies I found yesterday at the flea market. Now, I still love my pinks, and creams, but I love these vintage types of Christmas decorations. The swag on the left, is plastic snowmen on white plastic chains, with a red velvet bow. It is from Two Guys department store, and the original price is .99! They were a popular department store in the 50's -60's, and are no longer in business. I met the sweetest woman from this booth, and she told me she has been collecting vintage Christmas since she was 15! All kinds of goodies loaded in totes in her attic. I plan on putting the snowman swag on e-bay. She was just setting up her booth inside the flea market, and I was overjoyed, when she told me to pick through whatever I wanted! Love this light-up snowman blowmold.

Love the little santa to the right. He is sealed in the package, and was also marked .99. Looks like he is from the 60's too. He has a rubber face, and made in Japan. Down in front, I found 2 glittered candlestick picks. It's funny, I used to work in Woolworths department store when I was 16. I worked in the housewares dept, and always had to straighten up the big display of plastic flowers and picks. Who knew things like this would be so sought after years later?

I was really excited to find these pixies!! They are all in great condition, and nice and clean. The one in the front holding the package is adorable. There is also a drummer in the front. There is a satin ball next to santa, with a rubber face pixie sitting on it. I just used the little votive cups to display them. I almost didn't even go to the flea market, because it was cloudy, and didn't look like a good day to go. Hubby said, oh lets take ride anyway. I'm so glad we did! The sun ended up coming out, a cool breeze, and there were more vendors there than I have ever seen! I'm so looking forward to fall, and Christmas. Thanks for stopping by for a visit. I am joining in with Suzanne at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com/2012/08/vintage-thingie-thursday-vintage-pyrex.html for Vintage Things Thursday! Go over and check out more vintage goodies!

Ahhh, Lemon Meringue Pie!

Lemon meringue pie is one of my favorites, and it just naturally goes with summer right? Hard to make on a humid day though. I wondered why the meringue wouldn't beat up as stiff, and would get little water beads on the top of it. Has something to do with the water molecules, and the humidity in the air. Who knew? But, today was the perfect day for it! I like to put little swirls on the top with the back of a spoon. That's how my mom always did it.

I found this pretty picture over at The Mennonite Girls can cook. I just thought it was the prettiest picture!

I love this vintage ad for lemon pie! I have always loved My-T-Fine pudding, and if they have it in the store, that's what I get. Fall is coming soon, and lots of baking will be done. I can't wait!!

Pink Saturday

Hello Everyone! Where does the time go? It's August already, and time once again for Pink Saturday! Thank you Beverly for hosting! I just love this cute image of the little girl on the beach. Reminds me of my daughters!

This is a vintage millinery flower pin, that I found in a flea market.

It still has the sticker on the bottom, that says made in Japan. Not sure how old it is, but it is in perfect condition. You just don't find many of these around these days.

Here is another smaller one. I just love the color!

I stumbled across this pretty vintage lamp, while antiquing with some girlfriends in Pa. We had a blast scooting from one store to another. I saw it sitting on a shelf, and said, "Oh please let this be affordable. " Affordable indeed!! $16.00 with 20% off!!! YES!! The background is a creamy porcelain, and has the prettiest shade of pink roses! It was sitting there just waiting for me! A scalloped lampshade, and a round doily on top, PERFECT! It gives off the prettiest glow, and I just love it!

Even the bottom is still nice and shiney!

This pretty Fenton candy dish, was another antiquing day find. $30, and 20% off, and it came home with me!! I love the pink opalescent color!

Well, I hope you enjoyed your visit! Please be sure and visit Beverly of http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/2012/08/pink-saturday-august-4-2012.html for more Pink Saturday fun!
