I love Snowmen

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I sure did!  Now it's time for SNOWMEN!! I am joining in with Beverly of  http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/2012/12/snow-and-snowmen-pink-saturday-december-29-2012.html  I just love them! This is my snowman collection. First, I put down red and white lights, then batting. It gives such a pretty glow at night.

The ones here on the right, with scarves and earmuffs, I had made through the years. They are made of felt, and stuffed with batting. You can decorate them in so many fun ways!

I used baby socks for hats, painted toothpicks for noses, sticks for arms, and beads for eyes. Tomorrow they are calling for snow, and I think I will start making a few more.

These were the cutest bags I found, with 3D snowmen!

I found this adorable one in Wegman's last year. I just love it!!

Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to visit Beverly for more snow and snowman fun!!

Well, if you are like most of us, these next few days will find us busy baking, cooking, wrapping, and shopping! I just came across a hint that I wanted to share with all of my friends! Wrapping.........like it or not, sooner or later we have to get it done. The roll of paper that unfolds, and gets tangled in the other rolls. I tried taping the ends, then you have to pull off the tape, and hope the paper doesn't rip.

TA DA!!

Start saving your toilet paper rolls, ladies, and just cut  it up the middle, and slip it over the roll. You can also use paper towel rolls. Easy Peasey. Use these for all of your rolls of paper to keep them neat and organized.

You can also use them to put little candies and trinkets in. Twist the paper on the ends, and wrap with ribbon for a festive make it yourself cracker.

Happy Holidays everyone!!

Decking the Halls Pink Saturday

Hello everyone! Welcome to another fun Pink Saturday with Beverly from  http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com

Today I wanted to share with everyone a cute craft idea that I made last year. They are plastic cups, decorated with little miniatures. You can hang them from a tree, or just use them as little snowglobes.

Items you need:

short plastic wide cups (I got mine in Walmart)

assorted miniatures (I also used foam pieces from Micheals)

assorted flowers stems (trees)

glitter

snowflakes

felt or material for top (If hanging)

cording for hanging (if hanging)

hot glue

scrapbook paper or coasters for bottoms

Cut a circle with your scrap paper or coaster, a little bigger than the cups bottom. You can use a scalloped edge scissor if you wish.

Start arranging your items on the paper the way you like them.  I also used bits and pieces of flower picks. I made gold lights from some gold things I picked off of them. Little pieces of greenery substituted for little trees. Just use your imagination. Take your cup, and measure a piece of felt or fabric, to cover the top of the cup.  If you wish to make it an ornament, you will need to make a hole in the top of the cup, and insert  cording up through the bottom into the hole. Secure with hot glue from inside the cup.  After you have it arranged to your liking, put a small amount of hot glue around the bottom of the cup, and set in on top of the arrangement. You can put something on the top if you wish, or leave it plain. I love them, and there are so many ways you can decorate them. I want to make some for Easter too. Now, I was visiting sweet Kim over at http://kenward.blogspot.com/2012/12/have-you-seen-this-christmas-crafting.html and she has made some using plastic wine glasses!! Too cute! I love her version too! So there you have it. If you have any question just e-mail. Thanks for coming by. If you make some I would love to see them! Send me pics! Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to visit sweet Kim. She is always  coming up with the greatest ideas!

Merry Christmas!

Toy Stove Christmas Vignette

It seems that us big girls, still like to play with our "toys". Santa came early to my house this year, and brought me another toy stove like I had as a little girl! I couldn't wait to start decorating with it. I am feeling a retro Christmas this year, in my dining room and kitchen. I will also still love my pinks too, but this year I was just loving this look.

These little things I found at garage sales for like .25 and .50 cents.

The pixies came out to play too! I found the sweetest little cookie cutters in Hobby Lobby. The gingerbread girl is needlepoint, made by my dear mother-in-love. I have several of those on my fridge. I found the glass oranments at my local thrift for .69 and another 25% off! Score!!

This retro decoration was found at flea market. I did a swap of some pinecones with sweet Tammy over at Tammy's in Love, and she sent me these adorable little hang tags. I love them! I actually had some of this retro garland way back when, and I got rid of it. Boo Hoo. Now, what the girls are doing, is making these pretty tags, out of vintage cards, and scrapbook embelishments, then hang them from this garland. Check this one out over at http://creativebreathing.blogspot.com/2012/12/merry-bright-garland-tutorial.html  She is so  creative, and I can't stop looking at it. It's almost like a charm necklace, that you just keep adding to.

thanks for coming by for a visit!

I'm joining in with Sue over at http://suelovescherries.blogspot.com/2012/12/rednesday_11.html it's a very Cherry World for Rednesday! Stop by to see lots of red!

Merry Christmas!
