Vintage Things Thursday

This is my first time participating in Vintage Thingies Thursday hosted by http://coloradolady.blogspot.com/search/label/Vintage%20Thingies%20Thursdays. This is a vintage baby scale with a lovely vintage dress. I wished I owned this! Perfect little vignette! This beautiful slip is from a little shop called Vintage Lizzies.

Here is another vignette (not mine) of another gorgeous vintage baby Christening dress. I am just in love with these little dresses! So pretty and feminine. Some of the laces are so delicate and intricate.

Now this little one is mine! I found this on e-bay. The hanger kind of makes it have a stained effect on the top. It's just the hanger shining through. It it very delicate, soft and creamy white. I have it hanging on my bedroom wall. Thank goodness my hubby doesn't mind!

This is another of my treasures. I also purchased this one on e-bay. It was pretty wrinkled when I bought it, but I knew a little tender loving care would fix it right up. If you click on the pictures, you can see the pretty lace close up. Someone put a lot of work into this. I would have loved to see a little baby girl in this!

Here we have a vintage bed jacket. It's all pretty, silky, and lacy! I found it at an antique shop, and I think it was around $10.00. I have it hanging on my mirror that attaches to my antique dresser.

I just love these vintage pictures of my hubby when he was a little boy. I love looking at them. I got the idea to put some tissue paper in this vintage purse, and tuck some of these pictures in, and hung it on the wall. Now, I can see them all the time, and it just makes me happy! What makes the picture on the right so special, is that we grew up in the same neighborhood, and this picture was taken at our local park. So the park has memories for me too!

Well, hope you enjoyed looking at my vintage pretties! I enjoyed sharing them with you.
Debbie

Lovely post! Your vintage baby dresses are just beautiful-the first one is so delicate and the fabric so sheer no wonder the hanger shows through! Adorable way to display the pix from your husband's childhood-great purse too.

I love the pink bedjacket-oh, I can just the mistress of the house wearing it...with her hair up in back and that 40s pompadore in front!

Welcome to VTT!

Hi, Debbie! Great idea for the purse/pictures! I've seen great purses in the shops but then couldn't think of what I'd do with one. Now I know! ☺ ♥

Hi Debbie! Those baby dresses are all just precious, and the bed jacket is really neat! Women dressed really well, day or night, back when the bed jacket was popular!
I LOVE that purse with the pictures displayed in it too! What a great idea!

The first little dress would be even cuter with a little child size wooden hanger like I have (and have never used for anything). My little hanger has a small red rose decal right in the middle.

Those dresses and other clothing articles are wonderfully decorative - the original owners probably never dreamed their outfits would be regarded as decorative frills! Beautiful choices today!

Hi Debbie, Oh, I would love to see more of your roses! I can't have them all in my own yard, so it's wonderful to enjoy them in the yards and gardens of others! Have a blessed Sunday!

So many beautiful things, thanks for sharing. Thank you also for your lovely comment on my blog, I just wanted to answer your question regarding black spots on roses. Black spots are a fungus and so you can remove all affected foliage and spray the plants with fungicide. To help prevent the disease, water your rose bushes early in the mornings on the ground rather than on the foliage as moisture encourages fungus growth. Black spots are a common rose disease, many rose books will instruct you how to treat it. I like to spray my pruned (bare stumps) bushes in winter with lime sulphur, I find that really helps prevent many diseases later. Also keep your rose bushes fed and watered, they will be stronger and more disease resistant when they are well balanced in their diet.
