Hello and welcome to Vintage Thingies Thursday hosted by Suzanne of http://coloradolady.blogspot.com/2010/03/vintage-thingies-thursday-fun-finds.html and Leigh of http://lbratina.blogspot.com/2010/03/thrifty-thursday-56-plus-tablescape.html for thrifty Thursday. Thank you so much ladies, these are two of my favorites! I found this pretty vintage silver sugar bowl at my local thrift store. Can you believe it was only $2.92, plus 25% off? SCORE!! Please click on any picture to enlarge. I decided I would make a vintage style pincushion out of it with some of my ribbon roses. The larger ribbon was made with a silky shiny ribbon. Very pretty and delicate with a shine to it, but hard to work with because it's so slippery. The other was made with a satin ribbon. I used vintage buttons, and a snippet of old lace, and just hot glued it on.
Simple fall decor!

That's a great idea, I may have to copy your idea on a sugar bowl I have with no lid.

Hey Debbie,
Thanks for visiting my blog! :) Luan is a very thin piece of wood like plywood. (It's thin like masonite, but it's more like wood)
I found my background at backgrounds by Tenille. You can go to my blog and click on the thing that says Tenille in the upper left hand corner and it should take you there. I like your background though, I wouldn't change a thing! :)
Have a great day!
