Vintage Things Thursday

Hello and welcome to another fun Vintage Things Thursday, hosted by sweet Suzanne of Colorado lady. Thanks Susanne for hosting this fun party for us each week. Last Friday, I went antiquing with some girlfriends in Point Pleasant NJ. I love antiquing and had never been there before. Oh wow, was I in for a treat! We went to this store that used to be an old Woolworth's store. How cool is that? For those of you not familiar with Woolworth's, it was a 5&10 from maybe the 50's into the 70's. Here is the front of the building.

The original old ceiling.

This must be the original tile, and the "W" as you entered through the doors.

Filled to the brim with vintage goodies galore!!

This was taken at a different store, also filled with a lot of vintage goodies!

This was taken in a big building called the Vintage Emporium. There were three floors in this one. Look at all of the pretty jewelry! There was so much to take in! I didn't know where to look first.

Lots of pretty china and dishes here. This photo was taken looking down from the second floor.

This mannequin was also in the jewelry section.

This is another store we visited. In total there were about 6 of them that we went to. It was vintage heaven!

This was very interesting. A vintage frame with a screen attached to the back that you can hang your earrings on. I had also seen something like this in another store, where lace was attached to the back. The picture didn't come out well. I think I liked that one better.

This was from another store with a more rustic appeal to it.

Well, I hope you liked my tour of these great antique stores. We had such a fun day! I forgot to take a picture of the things I purchased! I'll save that for another day. Thanks for coming by, and don't forget to visit Suzanne for more participants.

Oh your blog is just beautiful. Love that antique shop tour. My town is so full of antiques and stores it is unbelievable. My sister-in-law is from NJ. Have you hear the name Loree Jon Jones. Women's World Billiards Champion for year? Beautiful girl and we were in NJ several times while they still lived there. Thanks for visiting.

I remember woolworths from when I was a little girl. They would always have a bin near the front of the store with tiny little perfumes in there and I would use my allowance to buy one. They were 25 cents. Thanks for the memories. ~~Sherry~~

Hi Debbie, love to antique shop with you. I am old enough to remember Woolworth's. We had one on Broad St. in Augusta, Georgia. Thanks bunches for visiting me: )

Wonderful post! I love visiting antique stores!!! The screen window of earrings was my favorite. I think I might try somethings similar to that here at home! I do remember Woolworth's. In fact, my mother has an old jewelry box with the little ballerina girl in it that I saved up my money and bought for her. My child-like handwriting is still on the bottom. I remember like it was yesterday walking in by myself and picking it out, paying and then giving it to her in the car. Wow.... thanks for this post! It's wonderful! Have a great weekend!

Hi. Thanks for visiting my blog. Love the old Woolworth store. So many treasures; I would be there for hours.
My daughters had the vintage frames for their jewelry; one had lace and the other had a screen. They were easy to make and such pretty displays. My one daughter still uses the screen one. Thanks for sharing.
Did you buy anything?
