Vintage Thingies Thursday

Hello and welcome to another Vintage Thingies Thursday hosted by http://coloradolady.blogspot.com/search/label/Vintage%20Thingies%20Thursdays Today I would like to share some pictures of our vacation to Victorian Cape May in NJ about 2 yrs ago. I love this town, with it's little shops, and beautiful victorian houses. My hubby and I absolutely love antique shops, and flea markets. He has the bug as bad as I do. So, on one of our afternoon excursions, we found this antique shop. When I see places like this I actually get butterflies in my stomach. Well, not so for our teenage daughter. She tries to be a good sport, but she does not like them at all. Suprisingly, when we stopped at this shop, she decided to come in, and take a look around. There were vintage things filling every nook and cranny. I found this silly looking hat, and wanted hubby to take a picture of me wearing it. Dear dauhter joined right in, and put one on too, and here we are!
This place was a blast from the past. I was really enjoying all of the "eye candy" they had. Imagine my surprise when I turned around to see my daughter wearing this! We were all having a good time in here! What a sport! Should I dare to push it even further?

We were on a roll here guys! We were both laughing so hard, and I said here try this on, and this, and this! This was just too good to be true. Oh look at Susie homemaker here, now isn't this cute?

Even hubby got into the act. They must have thought we were a little kooky in there, but hey, we're on vacation, and we were having fun!

This is dear daughter posing in front of the bed and breakfast we stayed in. That was such a nice family vacation! Although I didn't buy a thing in that shop, we had a blast! Thanks for coming by for a visit!

I discovered your blog today while I was over at Carols and let me tell you, yours is the sort of blog that, when I open it, gets me all excited!!
A. because I love pink and
B. because I love roses!!
I enjoyed looking at your photos. Your hubby looks great in the hat!

By the looks on her face, I would say Daughter #3 much prefers traveling over domestic chores! Big smile with train case in hand. Wearing an apron gives her a wrinkled up nose. Too funny! :)

I love it!! looks like you guys were having a ball. Who cares if the shop people thought you were kooky. Love those vintage train cases. Father in law got me a few so I could refinish them. Now I love them.

What a wonderful sounding trip. My kids are in their twenties now and I don't get to spend as much time with them.
I'm glad you're taking the time to enjoy yours.

Your hubby is such a good sport...mine hates to have his photo taken, especially if he knows it might land on the blog. ;) I love how you all got in on the act. Thanks for the visit! :)

What a wonderful time it looks like you all had. I know what you mean by the teenaged daughter just putting up with it sometimes...but she looks like she got into the swing of things. When my daughter was a teenager I found something that she liked to collect and that made our trips much more fun! Now she loves old things.

I loved your photos, Debbie..looks like ya'll had a blast. I'm so glad.
Thanks for stopping by to see the old bakers rack..someday I will replace it with a piece of real furniture. :)
I like some autumn colors but never orange...it is my least fav. color of all. I use my reds year round in flowers and decor....my favorite color of all.
I am still enjoying the little tin wall pocket you sent me...just love it in my red kitchen. I have a post coming up...not sure when it's prescheduled but I'll link back to your site on it.
hugs, bj
