VINTAGE THINGS THURSDAY

Hi and welcome to another fun Vintage Things Thursday, hosted by Suzanne of http://coloradolady.blogspot.com/search/label/Vintage%20Thingies%20Thursdays. Every Thursday we get to show off our vintage treasures, and visit other blogs to see their vintage goodies. So much fun! Thanks Suzanne! Today, I am sharing my vintage recipe collage made by Cynthia of http://cynthiascottagedesign.blogspot.com/. She had done a post about all of her mom's recipe cards, and mentioned she might want to make a collage. What a great idea. So, I thought it might be nice to make a collage of some of mine, my moms' and my grandmother's recipe's. These are written in everyone's own handwriting, which I thought would be a special keepsake. I wrote to Cynthia, and asked if she would be interested in making it for me, because she is a design consultant, and makes the prettiest designs with papers, and graphics. She is a sweetheart to work with, and this is what we came up with. Please click on the picture to enlarge. I just love how it turned out!

A few of the images, like the one on the bottom left, was in my mom's recipe box. We incorporated it into the design. Didn't she do a fantastic job? Also here are some of my moms'

original baking items from the 50's. Her rolling pin, aluminum measuring cups, egg beater, cookbook, and flour scoop. I have such fond memories of my mom and I baking, and these vintage items mean a lot to me. Thanks for looking, and don't forget to stop by Suzanne's for more vintage fun!

Oh Debbie, Cynthia did a fabulous job of turning these keepsakes into an heirloom to be treasured forever! I love the added touch of the red gingham ribbon. I know every time you look at this special collage and your mom's baking utensils, your heart will swell with renewed love and fond memories. :)

I have a couple of recipe cards that my mother wrote for me with favorite recipes. I also kept the handwritten cards that came with a vintage recipe card box I bought.

Fantastic collage, and what a wonderful, fun way to preserve those neat old recipes! My mom had that Betty Crocker cookbook and used it often. It is literally falling apart at the seams. Great stuff!

I soooo wish I had any of my mom's recipes. She passed when I was 15, and I don't think she used recipes in her cooking. thanks for sharing your beautiful collage. It made me sentimental :)

I was confused. I should have said "Cynthia". Pardon me please.

Old things are fun, but old things that have a story, especially when that story involves your parents or grandparents, are absolutely priceless.

What an amazing collection!

Debbie,
The collage just turned out so sweet! I did a tag swap where the back had to have a recipe on it, and I scanned one of my mom's recipe cards....it was so nice to see her handwriting again....very nice post!
