Teacup Tuesday

Hello, and welcome to another fun Teacup Tuesday hosted by Martha of http://www.marthasfavorites.com/2010/07/how-my-love-affair-began.html. Thank you Martha for hosting this fun party for us. My first teacup is from Bavaria. There is no name on it just a number. I loved the two-tone look of the pink and aqua. I bought this many yrs ago at a flea market for $4. I had to show you my pretty faux cakes I got from Rhonda's website. She has the prettiest faux cakes.
http://rhondasrosecottagedesigns.com/
Here is a closer look at the teacup.

This darling little teacup, is gold and white. It also just says Bavaria on the bottom. This little teacup is so special, because my daughter and I used to have little tea parties, and this was her cup. She was about 8-10 at the time, and she is now almost 20! Where do the yrs go? I will always treasure this little cup.

This is a pretty sugar bowl I got at a garage sale. It has an RS mark on the bottom. Not sure where it is from. Just loved the green with the little delicate flowers. My little frozen charlotte cupie wants to join the party. I love these little dolls. I just bought her from e-bay for $10!
thanks for stopping by! Please be sure to visit the other participants for more lovely tea things. I am also joining http://theplumedpen.blogspot.com/2010/07/hello-there-dear-blog-friends-t-hese.html for Tea things Tuesday.

Vintage Things Thursday

Hello, and welcome to another fun vintage things Thursday, hosted by Suzanne ofhttp://coloradolady.blogspot.com/search/label/Vintage%20Thingies%20Thursdays. Thank you so much for hosting this fun party each week. Today, I am sharing some vintage things from around my home. Here is some of my collection of vintage laces, and white lace hankies. On the top is a tatted doily, made by my dear mother-in-law. There are some lace hankies with tatted lace edges. She tried to teach me how to tat, and I just couldn't get the hang of it. Tatting is a very intricate kind of lace making, using one single cotton thread, and a tatting shuttle.
Under this glass dome, is a vintage wedding photo, and silver vintage clothes brush, and some more lace. This lace was crocheted by my husband's grandmother.
Here is some more vintage lace pieces I have displayed in a jar, and a display of some vintage white buttons.

A wreath I made from vintage white buttons.

This was hard to photograph, as the camera kept reflecting off the glass. I had to take kind of a side view of it. It is a collage I put together in a shadow box frame, using some of my mom's, grandmother's, and mother in laws things. I love cottage, and Victorian decor. I wanted it to look more Victorian. I took a shadow box, and distressed the outside with gold rub on paint, then hot glued a lace edging around it. Two layers of lace around the outside. In the corners, I used single
flowers in different hues of burgundy. I just hot glued them as I went along. For the background, I used a shiny material in sage green. Inside, I tacked jewelry that my mom wore on the nights she would get dressed up and go out with my dad. I would sit on her bed, and watch her get ready. I put my grandmother's pearls, and watch, and some flowers made by my mother-in-law out of ribbon. Everything is just tacked down with a needle and thread. No glue. I want to make another one using pinks and whites, for a more cottage look. Well, I hope you enjoyed your visit. Please visit Suzanne, to see the other participants. Thanks for coming by.

Vintage Things Thursday

Hello, and welcome to another Vintage Things Thursday, hosted by Suzanne of http://coloradolady.blogspot.com/2010/07/vintage-thingie-thursday-vintage-bear.html Today, I would like to share with you, what I call vintage creativity. I have visited many blogs, and it just amazes me the wonderful creativity of some of these women.Look at all of this vintage yumminess! Beautiful snippets of lace, old keys, baby shoes, old book pages, buttons, flowers, ribbons, and bows! Click on pictures to enlarge.
They have inspiration boards in their studios, where they create.

Everything beautifully organized, and displayed in pretty jars, baskets, and bins!

These are some of the lovely things they create! Check this out, a vintage suitcase pocket! Fill it with old photos, postcards, love letters. The possibilities are endless.

How creative is this?

Aren't these baby shoes just darling?

A little doll pincushion, how clever!

This is one of my favorites! These women are just amazing with their creativity! I spend way too much time visiting blogs, and drooling over their creations! I look at things in new ways now,
and use some of their ideas for inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit, and hope you enjoyed these lovely vintage creations! Kudos to all you wonderful creative women, who share their lovelies with us, and how-to's, and tutorials.
