This next one, is a basket I found at the thrift store for 2.92! It has the sweetest roses on it, and you know I can't pass them up!
Next, is a gift from a sweet lady I met in blogland. We got together with some other friends, and went to a Victorian Day, in Belviedere NJ. She brought a little gift for each of us, beautifully wrapped in the prettiest pink bag. I just love it. Thanks Sandy!

I would like to share today, some scrapbook Halloween pages I made about 7 yrs ago. The above picture is my daughter when she was 2,3, and 4. She is 37 today, so these have given me much pleasure to look at over the years. You can click on the pictures to see more detail. In the first picture, she is Holly Hobby, which was very popular in 1976. Just a nightgown, and little hat was perfect. As a young mom, with a limited budget, I did the best with what I had. The second photo she is Raggedy Ann. A Raggedy Ann dress, some red tights, a wig made from yarn, and done. She looked so cute! Lastly, is Little Red Riding Hood. Someone gave me a red and white gingham skirt, and I already had a red hooded sweatshirt, and red poncho. I love the little candies they had in the scrapbook section. They look so real!
These photos are from my middle daughter. I used cookie cutters to make these shapes. So fun to make! I really enjoyed putting together their costumes.

I was laughing at the return address, when it arrived four days later. lol! I'm wondering what the mailman and the people at the post office thought. lol!
Just thought I would share this, in case you might need a fun game sometime for a shower.
Here, I have displayed a favorite cloche, with a vintage bride image I found on the internet. I think at one time, I must have lived in a different era. I just love these vintage pictures of children and brides. This one is just so romantic looking. I have accented it with a vintage clothes brush, and vintage baby spoon, along with a little Victorian purse that is actually a Christmas ornament.
I have filled a trifle bowl with ornaments that I had gotten at Crate and Barrel. Perfect Autumn colors, along with some sparking metallic leaves. In the little cloche are glass ornaments of little acorns and pumpkins. The glass garland around the trifle bowl was also found at Crate and Barrel. I don't decorate with a lot of orange in the fall, mostly just around Halloween. these colors say fall without the traditional oranges. Glad I was able to hop in at the last minute. Oh my goodness! I was so excited to find an image of this famous wax whistle! This was so popular at Halloween time in the 50's. They are calling it a Wowie Whistle! It was just like the wax lips you can still find today, only you could blow on this like a whistle. We kids of the Boomer years just couldn't get enough of them. They were wrapped in cellophane adorned with black cats, bats, and the like. That first whiff of the newly-unwrapped wax was heavenly. A Canadian candy company called Concord confections still produces the lips, and supposedly, even the Wowee Whistle.
Here is another wax-encased candy. Remember the Nik-L-Lip wax bottles? There was a sweet liquid inside.
Here are the ever famous Ju Ju Bees. I didn't care much for these. Tiny little chewy hard candies, that came in rainbow colors. To me, they all tasted mostly the same. Most stores still carry these. they were a favorite for eating at the movies.
Here we have the wax lips! Loved these as a kid. We always got these at Halloween time. They still have these today. I don't know if they are as good as the ones we had as kids though.
The all time FAVORITE was Bonomo Turkish Taffy!!! We loved this as kids, and so did our dentists!!! lol! We would smack that boy down on a hard surface, and that baby would break into bite sized pieces. Pure heaven!! I have not seen this anywhere since the 60's, but I have heard rumors that Cracker Barrel restaurant has them! I have to check that out! Chocolate and vanilla were my favorites.
Now, I am sure a lot of you have heard of Wegmans' food store. They are here on the east coast.
Another store here in NJ is called 5-Below. I took these photos of the shelves inside the store. They have most of the retro candy right here! I couldn't believe it! Necco wafers you can find pretty much everywhere though.
The Clark bars, Zagnut, Mallo Cups, Oh -Henry's are all here! I loved Clark Bars. I remember, back in the day, I guess I was about 10. My mom didn't drive, and she loved her Kent brand cigarettes, and her True Story ladies magazine. She would give me money .35 for cigs, and .10 for 2 candy bars. She loved Almond Joy, and me the Clark bar. I would ride my bike down to the corner confectionery to buy our treats. Back then, I could buy the cigarettes too! I never smoked though, and so glad I never started.
Here is the Skybar! I never cared for that one much.
Dots are still around, black crows not so much. I have seen them in most Walgreens stores though.
The first item I would like to share, is a vintage picnic basket! I have wanted one for quite some time, and finally found one on an antique hunt with some friends. It was $28, and in good condition. I plan on painting it pink, and displaying vintage linens in it.
This is an antique baby scale. The graphics on it are really nice and colorful. It is in great condition with no rust. It's missing it's top, but I think it's still really cool!
Here is a vintage baby dress from the 50's, I picked up at a church bazaar. I had posted this last week for pink Saturday also. It has sweet little flocked flowers on it, and it's original hang tag. I plan on hanging it on my bedroom wall, with other little vintage white dresses. (Thanks hubby) lol!
