Pink Saturday

I love this Christmas ball wreath!

This pretty pink slipper is from e-bay seller jazzy1222. She has beautiful offerings, so pretty and feminine. Maybe you will find a Christmas present for someone special or even for yourself. She makes things in several different styles and colors also, so if you see something you like in lavender, ask, and she maybe can make it in pink or white. Easy Pumpkin Bread

I love pumpkin bread, and this recipe is sure to make people think you spent hours in the kitchen making it from scratch! You will need a box of Pillsbury pumpkin flavor quick bread. Raisins, walnuts (if desired)

butter, and a box of oatmeal (not instant) Follow directions on the pumpkin bread, and mix in 1/2 cup of raisins, and 1/2 cup of walnuts finely chopped. Grease and flour a 9x5 loaf pan, or use cooking spray like Pam. I pop it into the oven, and while it bakes for 20 min, I prepare this topping.

I use this topping for apple crumb pie, but discovered it tastes great on pumpkin bread too. Makes it taste more like homemade. In a medium bowl combine:

3/4 C brown sugar

1/2 C all purpose flour

1/2 C rolled oats (not instant)

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 C butter

I cut the butter into small little pieces, and mix it all together with a fork until it resembles course crumbs. You will have enough mixture for 2 or three loaves of bread, depending how much topping you put on each one. If you only want to make one, you can cut the recipe in half, or save it in the fridge in a container. Mine has kept for several weeks. I find the topping works best by baking the bread for 20 min first, then spoon on your topping, and continue baking about another 20 min or until done. If you put the topping on first, it kind of sinks down, and doesn't come out as nice. I have made several of these for the holidays as well as given them for gifts. Pop them into the freezer, and you have a great homemade like dessert for company stopping by. Enjoy!

Autumn Tea Party

Pink Saturday

It's time once again for Pink Saturday! Thanks so much Beverly from How Sweet the Sound for hosting. This is one of my absolute favorite pictures of my youngest daughter, who is now 19. Where does the time go? I can't believe it. She always made this little face, and I am so glad she did while they were snapping her picture. I think she was about 9 months old. Just precious!





This next one, is a basket I found at the thrift store for 2.92! It has the sweetest roses on it, and you know I can't pass them up!

Next, is a gift from a sweet lady I met in blogland. We got together with some other friends, and went to a Victorian Day, in Belviedere NJ. She brought a little gift for each of us, beautifully wrapped in the prettiest pink bag. I just love it. Thanks Sandy!

I would like to share today, some scrapbook Halloween pages I made about 7 yrs ago. The above picture is my daughter when she was 2,3, and 4. She is 37 today, so these have given me much pleasure to look at over the years. You can click on the pictures to see more detail. In the first picture, she is Holly Hobby, which was very popular in 1976. Just a nightgown, and little hat was perfect. As a young mom, with a limited budget, I did the best with what I had. The second photo she is Raggedy Ann. A Raggedy Ann dress, some red tights, a wig made from yarn, and done. She looked so cute! Lastly, is Little Red Riding Hood. Someone gave me a red and white gingham skirt, and I already had a red hooded sweatshirt, and red poncho. I love the little candies they had in the scrapbook section. They look so real!

These photos are from my middle daughter. I used cookie cutters to make these shapes. So fun to make! I really enjoyed putting together their costumes.

Fun Baby Shower Game

I am helping to plan a Halloween themed baby shower for my daughter's friend. We were looking on the internet for fun games to play, and we found this. It is like the version of Pin the Tail on the Donkey, only this version is self explanatory lol! It got good reviews, and people said they had a ball playing it. The mother-to-be already knows about the party, so we checked with her first to make sure it was appropriate. She loved the idea. It is nicely made, and the colors are nice and bright. I was laughing at the return address, when it arrived four days later. lol! I'm wondering what the mailman and the people at the post office thought. lol!

Just thought I would share this, in case you might need a fun game sometime for a shower.
